Uma viagem pelo Nordeste certamente será muito afetada pelas marés, ainda mais se você pretende mergulhar nas piscinas naturais.
As marés são as alterações do nível das águas do mar por causa, principalmente, da influência da gravidade da Lua sobre a Terra.
As variações das marés demoram 12 horas e 25 minutos, por exemplo, se a maré estiver baixa às 6 horas da manhã, ela estará alta por volta das 10 horas, baixa novamente às 18:25, e, por fim, alta de novo por volta da meia-noite.
Além disto, a grau de variação das marés também depende da fase da Lua: nas luas cheia e nova, as marés altas são mais altas e as marés baixas são mais baixas. Geralmente são os melhores dias para os mergulhos nas piscinas naturais, com marés baixas de 0.0 ou até negativas.

Só torça para que, quando você estiver no Nordeste e se for ficar poucos dias, não pegue as marés baixas às 4 ou 5 horas da manhã, pois assim será muito difícil curtir as atrações que dependem de maré baixa. Alguns passeios podem até ser cancelados se a maré estiver muito alta.

A trip to Northeast Brazil will be greatly affected by the tides, specially if you intend to swim in the seapools.
The tides are the changes in the sea level, caused mainly by the effect of the Moon on Earth.
These changes have 12 hours and 25 minutes cycle. For example, if there're low tides at 6 am, there'll be high tides around 10 am, low tides at 6:25 pm, and, finally, high tides around 12 am.
Another factor that affects the tides are the Moon phases: during full and new Moon the high tides are higher and the low tides lower. Usually, these are the best days for snorkeling in the pools, when low tides can reach 0.0 degree or less.
Almost everybody in the tourism business will be able to tell what is the best time of the tides in the city where you are at. The Brazilian tide table can be found in newspapers or in the website indicated below (in Portuguese).

If you're spending just a few days in Northeast Brazil, you have to cross your fingers to not get the low tides at 4 or 5 am, because this could really spoil your trip. Some tours might even be canceled due to high tides.
